My name is Armando del Romero. I am a genuine and active person that has always been attracted to the challenges of the work industry through a very wide professional scope, which includes a solid humanities expertise (Philosophy Major), the oral and written knowledge, translating, proofreading and teaching of five languages (Spanish, English, French, Italian and German) at the most important publishing house in France, L'Harmattan.

If there would a word to define me as a worker, it would be versatile. From intellectual projects to the practicity of handling a school kitchen in the midde of the swiss alps of 100 sittings, helping to manage a boarding house through the adaptation and connaissance of the culture and language of the children I live and work with. Theory and practice combined under a professional ethic, which has allowed me to enjoy what I was doing and has kept untouched my spirit of adventure.

I’ve been tutoring maths, french, german and spanish in Switzerland and Bali for the last years as a House Counsellor and private tutor. My philosophy major has given me the chance of stablishing a successful method of education and interaction with the child. Not only he works independently, but he’s also able to develop an interest for the subject he’s learning. Recently I’ve been working as a tourist guide for a parisian agency.

This diversity of jobs doesn’t mean lack of specialization. On the contrary, it exploits my capabilities as a human being to the maximum extension. It reassures a particular way of looking at life under an idealistic way that evades small and reducted views of behaviour in our society. It has taken me all over the world, and it hasn’t been easy sometimes, but what I get in exchange is beyond comparison.

I expect to learn about myself. I welcome the challenge, I look forward to a new adventure and am open for every new experience. Not only I do expect to learn from the job itself, but also from the children that I work with and the other colleagues that come from many cultures and can hopefully teach me values that I will carry with me for life.
