An add-on is not a pane. "Browser add-on" is just another word for browser extension. It is a little plugin for your browser that you download and install. Usually a little icon then appears somewhere near the top of the browser. I use a Chromium browser but if you use Firefox there should be similar add-ons for that as well.

(Data of this leak may not be in the database yet to check.)
The service is idmerit.
Cybersecurity researchers have confirmed they discovered a massive “treasure trove” of unsecured data, with information on individuals from 26 countries, including, at the top of the list, the U.S., which appears to be linked to an AI-powered identity verification service. Totalling almost a terabyte of data and 1 billion records, the exposed information included national IDs, full names, addresses, phone numbers, and email.

Just when you think things couldn’t get any worse, those same researchers have now disclosed yet another AI-related data leak.
Forum: Internet for translators
Topic: Check if you've been pwned by the latest global hackers attack ALIEN TXTBASE Stealer Logs
Poster: ezpz
Post title: 2FA now available via email code

Hi Gjorgji,

I found this post today while searching for "2FA" in the forum.

I am not sure when this was implemented, but there is currently the option to be sent a 6-digit code by email that you must enter every time you log in.

You can toggle this optional setting from here:
#user_2fa

Not the most secure method, but at the very least it is a good start.

Kind regards

Another Great Use of Neural Networks

Forum: Internet for translators
Topic: Another Great Use of Neural Networks
Poster: kd42

Modern neural networks excel at generating regular expressions and designing workflows for processing data files that contain program code and text—such as HTML.

For example, if you ask ChatGPT to create a routine that strips all HTML tags, leaving only the plain text, and specify that you’re using Notepad++, it will generate a macro, explain how to use it, and help you efficiently process large batches of files.

One of the biggest advantages is that you can describe your task or problem to the neural network just as you would to other people on a forum. But unlike typical forum replies, responses from a large language model are often clearer, more direct, and provide all the assistance you need.
Since Google is on its campaign to force AI Translate into everything, one of the things that started to happen over the last few months when I use web search (I don't use Chrome; it's too ugly) is that results show AI-translated pages.
So, now I use DuckDuckGo (or, sometimes, Qwant) for most of my web searches, but if I need to use Google search, I use the new Web option that appears under the More drop-down menu, or I add site:.br (or whatever country you want the results from) to the query.

IMO, this AI invasion isn't helping anybody other than the Google director's pocket, probably.
