It offers one and a half days of presentations and keynote speeches, two half days of pre-conference workshops, and a programme of “off-METM” events.

The 2026 meeting will take place in Perugia, the capital of Umbria, known as the “green heart of Italy”. This medieval hilltop town with a rich Etruscan past is famous for its international festivals: Umbria Jazz, Eurochocolate and the International Journalism Festival. It’s also home to the famous Baci chocolates and some of Italy’s finest wines. Our venue, the Hotel Giò Wine & Jazz Area, located just outside the old town, is one of the main conference centres in central Italy.

Register now:

Venue

Hotel Giò Wine & Jazz Area

Via Ruggero D'Andreotto, 19

Perugia, Italy

Forum: Language Industry Events & Announcements
Topic: Master in Life Sciences at TranslaStars: 3 months, 12 modules, 15+ tutors
Poster: Ekaterina Chashnikova

The industry has changed. Have you?

The life sciences translation and localization industry is transforming; there is no question about it. But. While basic translation is being automated, the life sciences industry is desperately seeking language professionals who understand BOTH the science AND the business. The opportunities are there—but they look different than they did five years ago.

👉🏻 I'd love to introduce the Master in AI, Translation and Project Management for Life Sciences, a comprehensive program designed to help linguists not just survive, but thrive in the post-localization era.

The program is aimed at both newcomers and experienced linguists. Over 12 interactive modules, you'll gain practical insights into everything from pharmaceutical regulatory affairs and clinical trials to medical interpreting, linguistic validation, and overlapping areas like cosmetics and nutrition.
You'll discover which services are in demand, how AI is reshaping your role, and most importantly, how to position yourself in the new landscape.

What makes this program truly unique? You'll learn directly from industry experts — medical translators, project managers, interpreters, pharmaceutical professionals, and AI implementation specialists. Every session is interactive and practical, designed to give you immediately applicable knowledge.

📖 The program covers conventional translation challenges alongside AI innovations, exploring terminology management, regulatory compliance, and the linguistic nuances of different life sciences specializations. You'll also dive into translation project management, understanding how to lead teams and coordinate complex pharmaceutical, clinical trial, and medical device projects.

💡The final module brings everything together, focusing on marketing and self-presentation. You'll have the opportunity to review everything you've learned and develop a strategy to reposition yourself, discover your niche, or upgrade your marketing approach to attract the right clients.

I've planned this program as a roadmap to career development, growth, and diversification.
Ready to future-proof your career? Learn more and enroll here.

[Edited at 2025-11-17 11:12 GMT]

[Edited at 2025-11-17 11:13 GMT]

Forum: Language Industry Events & Announcements
Topic: Apex Legal Translation Celebrates International Translation Day 2025
Poster: Moustafa Nassr

In a world where peace often hangs in the balance and trust in communication is more critical than ever, International Translation Day (ITD) 2025 shines a spotlight on the role of human trust. This year’s theme emphasizes the essential contributions of translators, interpreters, and terminologists in ensuring trustworthy communication, fostering dialogue, and providing oversight to AI-generated and machine-translated text.
In alignment with the United Nations’ declaration of 2025 as the Year of Peace and Trust, Apex Legal Translation is proud to join the global community in celebrating ITD. The UN has long recognized that dialogue and diplomacy are at the heart of conflict prevention and resolution, and none of this would be possible without the invisible yet indispensable work of interpreters and translators.
Our 2025 Celebration
On Saturday, 27 September 2025, Apex Legal Translation will host a hybrid event, both on-site in Dubai and online, in collaboration with our esteemed partners Saint Joseph University, Proz and the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).
The event will feature a rich and interactive program designed to inspire, educate, and connect language professionals, including:
•	Webinars on the latest industry trends and innovations.
•	Workshops focused on practical skills and tools for translators and interpreters.
•	Lectures by leading academics and industry experts.
•	Engaging activities to foster collaboration and networking.
•	Podcasts featuring insightful conversations with experienced translators, interpreters, and distinguished leaders in the language industry.

Why This Matters
For over 35 years, the International Federation of Translators (FIT) has encouraged its members to unite under an annual theme to celebrate ITD. Since the 2017 UN General Assembly Resolution (A/RES/71/288), ITD has been officially recognized across the entire UN network, honoring the contribution of language professionals in connecting nations and building peace.
At Apex Legal Translation, we believe our work in legal and professional translation is deeply tied to these values, ensuring fairness, transparency, and trust in every word we deliver.
Join Us
Whether you join in person or virtually, this celebration offers a unique opportunity to connect with colleagues, enhance your professional skills, and be part of a global dialogue on the future of translation.
📅 Date: Saturday, 27 September 2025
📍 Format: Hybrid (On-site in DUBAI & Online)
🤝 Partners: Saint Joseph University, CIOL & PROZ
✨ Attendees who join us until the end of the event will receive a Certificate of Participation issued by Apex Legal Translation.
Forum: Language Industry Events & Announcements
Topic: Today, May 13: Get found, seen, and hired
Poster: Baran Keki
Post title: Yearning for that day...
Helen Shepelenko wrote:
discover how to create a standout profile, increase your visibility, and make the most of the top platforms for freelancers.
I don't what this anachronistic claptrap had to offer (too long, didn't watch it), but it seems to me there is only one way to 'get found, seen and hired' today: Kill/Destroy AI.
We need that one ballsy individual who will selflessly lay down their life for the good of their fellow translators and take that ultimate action just like Raskolnikov did.
He/she will murder/destroy AI completely and then have to kill themselves as well, otherwise Elon Musk and his bullies will be all over them and give them a very slow and painful death.
Their sacrifice will be forever appreciated by the future generations, and they'll go down the history like Che Guevara or Luigi Mangione.
Until that saviour arrives, we're all lost, doomed.

I recognize how frustrating these issues can be, and the systems team is fully dedicated to resolving them. That said, we can't halt all work, and we need to continue supporting valuable industry initiatives like this conference.

You may already know that we are building a new version of the site, with some sections —such as training courses and ProZ*Pay— already available in the prototype. While progress has slowed due to our focus on stabilizing the classic site, ProZ remains committed to delivering this much-needed update in 2025. This is a crucial time for members like you to share feedback, ideas, and expectations to help shape the new platform.

If you have thoughts on what you'd like to see improved, aspects of the classic site you'd like to keep, or any issues you've encountered in the prototype, I'd love to hear from you. You can always reach me directly at or contact the team at

As this thread is dedicated to MedTranslate, we'll want to keep the conversation centered on the conference itself —topics you'd like to see covered, your experiences with in-person events, or memories from the first MedTranslate, if you attended. That said, if anyone reading this would like to contribute feedback on the future of ProZ, please feel free to reach out via email, or via support request!

Looking forward to the discussion,

Andrea

Guess what effects this will have in terms of marketing, reputation and money?

Forum: Language Industry Events & Announcements
Topic: Online Localization Winter School 2025 | January 20 – 31, 2025
Poster: Baran Keki
Post title: The Industry
Gokhan Dogru wrote:
Localization industry is one of the fastest growing language service areas. COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated digitalization all around world, which, in turn, has created opportunities for IT companies to extend their digital products and services across the globe through localization.
Covid-19 was indeed manna from heaven for the empowerment industry. It fast-tracked digitization, and achieved in one year what the so-called globalization managed to deliver in 20 odd years. While everybody was going broke, translators thrived! Never before did they get such abundant job opportunities and rate increases! It was just too bad that the vaxxers got their way and derailed the gravy train... Now the pandemic is over, localization industry is dead as a dodo.
We were really pinning our hopes on Monkey Pox, but the damn thing just didn't effing pick up!
As we say in our empowerment seminars over and over again: what the industry needs right now is another world-wide pandemic. Hopefully something will come along pretty soon and linguistic localization industry will start making big bucks like it did 4 years ago. We live in hope!

[Edited at 2024-10-07 15:19 GMT]
