I saw that your tool supports memoQ. I agree that SDLXLIFF parsing is also a major challenge.
My tool has been tested with SDLXLIFF files as well, including handling the file structure and translation workflow requirements.
My main goal is to discuss with translation company CEOs how this tool can be implemented into their workflows and customized according to their needs.

Agreed, huge potential. My entire workflow is driven by voice (Talon). What I thought was a disaster two years ago, when I became unable to use Windows Notepad with Dragon Naturally Speaking after upgrading to Windows 11, turned out to be a blessing in disguise.

I had to move to Talon, which pushed me to Visual Studio Code, and thence to Cursorless, and I have implemented several of my tools as VS Code extensions - none of this would have been possible using DNS and Notepad!

As if all of this wasn't already crazy enough, I just realised that I can communicate with Claude about the project it is currently translating in Trados Studio on my desktop computer, in the Claude Android app! Also by voice. I am currently sitting in my garden talking to Claude on my Android phone about the job it's translating for me in my office. We are definitely living in interesting times!

My chat input dictated with Wispr Flow. Once the MCP server starts on the actual work, I see the grid updating automatically, like magic.

Yes – everything goes through the plugin

There are two pieces:

• A tiny MCP server (a standalone .exe, installed into Claude for Desktop as a .mcpb extension). It speaks the MCP protocol to Claude and does nothing else – it holds no Trados logic at all.

• Supervertaler for Trados, which starts a small localhost-only HTTP bridge inside the Studio process itself. Random port, fresh bearer token per session, handshake file so the .exe can find it, and it never accepts anything but [IP removed] connections.

So Claude → MCP .exe → bridge → the plugin, which is already sitting inside Studio and can call the Studio API directly, on Studio's own UI thread.

That in-process bit is the whole trick, and it's what you ran into as well: the Studio API is only really usable from inside Studio. Anything working from the outside is stuck with SDLXLIFF files on disk, which means you get a snapshot, not the session. No active segment, no live TM lookups, no termbase the project actually has attached, no comments/tracked changes as Studio sees them — and no way to write back without the user closing, you editing, and them reopening.

Going through the plugin means Claude sees the document you have open right now. When it calls go_to_segment, your cursor moves (which is kind of magical to see). When it calls update_segments, the edit appears in the grid in front of you and you can Ctrl+Z it like any other change. search_tm hits the actual TMs attached to the project. That's the difference between "an AI that processes your files" and "an AI sitting next to you in Studio", and it's why it feels the way it does.

And all of this is possible using natural language. That is, you don't need to remember any of the tool names. And of course, to make it even more fun, instead of typing in Claude Desktop's chat window, you should start dictating! And use your Talon scripts to carry out various keyboard operations in Trados Studio, by voice, or use the built-in voice commands that come with Supervertaler for Trados.

(Practical bonus of the split: the .exe is trivial and never needs Studio internals, so the 49 tools live in the plugin and I can add tools without users reinstalling the Claude Desktop side. It just re-reads the tool list from the bridge.)

I don't even need to do any preliminary checks on these kinds of ridiculous messages.
I almost always post these scams here to warn newer translators who have little experience with this type of scam.
Then I delete this junk from my inbox.
Scammers will use anything, they might use texts they probably wrote years ago or ones generated by AI, but there’s always a red flag, a weird email address, a slip of the tongue, or something else that immediately catches my attention.

Yes, absolutely. That's why I'm posting here. My work is specifically focused on AI translation and localization. The coding example is only from my experience as a software developer; my main point is whether we can apply the same advances in AI to achieve professional-level translation quality.

I am a software developer, and I have seen how much Claude and other AI models have advanced. Many senior developers are now using AI tools to improve their coding productivity and solve complex problems.

My point is: if AI can assist with or even outperform experienced developers in certain coding tasks, why can't we apply the same approach to translation and help AI achieve professional-level translation quality?

The key is not simply using AI directly, but building the right workflow around it with proper instructions, context, terminology, and quality checks.

Hello colleages,

I would like to share my experience with Lexint GmbH (Frankfurt am Main, Germany) and ask whether other translators have experienced similar payment issues.

Between December 2025 and February 2026, I completed three translation assignments for Lexint. All three assignments were delivered on time, and the work was described by the client as “very satisfactory.”

The total outstanding amount is EUR 2,993. Despite repeated payment commitments, including specific promises to pay by 30 June and, at the latest, 15 July 2026, payment has not been received.

I subsequently issued three formal demands for payment (First, Second and Final Formal Demand). The client also proposed payment by installments but did not provide the promised repayment schedule. My subsequent payment follow-ups have gone unanswered.

I have now started taking formal steps to recover the outstanding amount.

I am posting this for professional awareness and would appreciate hearing from other translators who may have had recent payment experiences with Lexint GmbH.

If anyone has relevant experience, particularly regarding recent payment delays, I would be grateful if you could share it here.

Thanks for your question.

I created this post because many translators believe that AI cannot achieve human-like translation quality, and I wanted to share my experience and explain what I learned while developing this workflow.

My goal is not to make the source code public, but to explore opportunities to provide the tool to translation companies or integrate it into professional localization workflows.
