Source text - English We have now finalised the results for 2001/02 and received a clean audit report but it is disappointing to have to announce that profits before tax are down against the previous year.
From an operating point of view the introduction of the Euro went incredibly smoothly due to a great deal of hard work from a great many of our employees. My thanks to you all.
2001/02 was also affected by the foot-and-mouth outbreak across Europe at the beginning of the year, the weakening European economies, low polymer and coffee prices, and of course the terrible events of 11 September. These factors, added to our ongoing programme of streamlining and re-branding our operating businesses, with the associated costs, affected top line sales, which fed through to lower margins and profits.

English, French into Spanish Translator
Since 2004
I am a specialist in technical, computing related translation: The Inquirer, SUN MICROSYSTEMS, eWeek, Computing, and also a literary translator, with nine books fully translated and published and currently working on the tenth.
I live in Geneve, where I follow the Master of Translation imparted by the ETI (Université de Genève). Before studying Translation and Interpreting (Degree/B.A. Hons Level The University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain), I did my studies in Journalism and Communication (also B.A. Hons level Universidad Complutense de Madrid, Spain), and I had a four-year work experience as a Journalist. As an editor/writer for Computing magazine, I had the chance to develop my talent and training as a technician writer. During the four years as a member of the editorial/executive board of 01 Consulting, Madrid, Spain, I had the opportunity to travel around the USA and Europe with top one firms like IBM, Microsoft or Intel, interviewing their executives and attending to a wide range of press meetings. In addition to this, I studied International Affairs for an academic term at the California State University of Los Angeles (CSULA). Also, I lived in New Zealand for five months (working in Localization for QUALCOMM), Australia for a year and in France for two years.
Prior to my job in Computing, I worked in Mexico as a local reporter. Over there, I went straight into the profession, covering hot-news like El Niño hurricane. This experience provided me with the skills of managing new and on-the-limit situations.
I am good at computing. I have an advanced knowledge of some TAO tools, mainly TRADOS, and I can easily handle the multimedia and web orientated software: Dreamweaver Flash, Adobe Photoshop or Premier, including all kind of office suites such as Microsoft Office or OpenOffice. I own Trados 6.5 Freelance software.
