How Product A Works:
Product A is classified as a monoclonal antibody. Monoclonal antibodies are a relatively new type of “targeted” cancer therapy.
Antibodies are an integral part of the body’s immune system. Normally, the body creates antibodies in response to an antigen (such as a protein in a germ) that has entered the body. The antibodies attach to the antigen in order to mark it for destruction by the immune system.
To make anti-cancer monoclonal antibodies in the laboratory, scientists analyze specific antigens on the surface of cancer cells (the targets). Then, using animal and human proteins, they create a specific antibody that will attach to the target antigen on the cancer cells. When given to the patient, these monoclonal antibodies will attach to matching antigens like a key fits a lock.
Since monoclonal antibodies target only specific cells, they may cause less toxicity to healthy cells. Monoclonal antibody therapy is usually only given for cancers in which antigens (and the respective antibodies) have been identified already.
Product A is a highly selective humanized monoclonal IgG4 antibody directed against the PD-1 receptor on the cell surface. The drug blocks the PD-1 receptor, preventing binding and activation of PD-L1 and PD-L2. This mechanism causes the activation of T-cell mediated immune responses against tumor cells.

A column is prepared by packing a solid absorbent into a cylindrical glass or plastic tube. The size will depend on the amount of compound being isolated. The base of the tube contains a filter, either a cotton or glass wool plug, or glass frit to hold the solid phase in place. A solvent reservoir may be attached at the top of the column.
Two methods are generally used to prepare a column: the dry method and the wet method. For the dry method, the column is first filled with dry stationary phase powder, followed by the addition of mobile phase, which is flushed through the column until it is completely wet, and from this point is never allowed to run dry. For the wet method, a slurry is prepared of the eluent with the stationary phase powder and then carefully poured into the column. The top of the silica should be flat, and the top of the silica can be protected by a layer of sand. Eluent is slowly passed through the column to advance the organic material.
The individual components are retained by the stationary phase differently and separate from each other while they are running at different speeds through the column with the eluent. At the end of the column they elute one at a time. During the entire chromatography process the eluent is collected in a series of fractions. Fractions can be collected automatically by means of fraction collectors. The productivity of chromatography can be increased by running several columns at a time. In this case multi stream collectors are used. The composition of the eluent flow can be monitored and each fraction is analyzed for dissolved compounds, e.g. by analytical chromatography, UV absorption spectra, or fluorescence. Colored compounds (or fluorescent compounds with the aid of a UV lamp) can be seen through the glass wall as moving bands.

The use of sensors and automated actuators in agriculture has always been dependent on its profitability. For large scale, open-field operations, automation is usually prohibitively expensive and cumbersome, often requiring large, specialized structures or machinery, such as pivot irrigation or sluice controls. For smaller areas, some systems are more easily implemented, and a few are even a common sight: the most ubiquitous of these are probably sprinklers, which can be found in almost every public and private garden. However, these systems usually behave in a purely periodical manner regardless of external conditions - such as the presence of rain or even just an overcast sky - and any modification on this behaviour must usually be set up manually. Indeed, in most cases any sensors used in agriculture will be handheld ones.
There is a field, however, in which automation and constant monitoring are an intrinsic part of the system: greenhouses. The precise conditions that need to be maintained within a greenhouse call for an almost constant monitorization and adjustment. While this has traditionally been done by hand, the last few decades have seen an increase in the use of digital systems to help control these tasks. This process has been accelerated by the ever-decreasing cost of sensors, and the new levels of miniaturization achieved in processors: these factors allow relatively cheap and non-intrusive systems to be set up, often making use of pre-existing control tools.
This new affordability has allowed for this kind of technology to be applied to another field of agriculture: urban farming and gardening. From the humble potted houseplant to the sustainability-oriented urban plot, a certain amount of private greenery has always been a part of the city landscape. In these cases, a complex and expensive system for automation is rather impractical; thus, it has not been until very recently that new techniques in automation have started to be implemented at such a small sale.
The advantages offered by this kind of small, affordable devices can be best seen in the case of a product that has been on the rise for some time now: the microcontroller.

The first step our program takes is attempting to connect to an available WiFi network, whose SSID and password are given in the arduino_secrets.h file. For this, we will start from the code provided in one of the built-in examples provided with the WiFi101 library, called WiFiWebClient: this sketch allows an Arduino development board to connect to a website. The sketch, however, needs to be modified in several ways to suit our purposes.
First of all, since in the Adafruit Feather WiFi has an integrated WiFi module, the following line must be added to the Setup function, to set up the appropriate pins:

The program will then try to connect to the WiFi, using the following function, part of the WiFi101 library:

This function initializes the WiFi library’s network settings, and provides its current status – this will be shown through the serial port for debugging purposes.
Another modification must still be made to the base protocol. As it is, the sketch connects to the WiFi network during the setup step, halting the whole program until the network is found. Although the IoT capabilities are an important part of our system, we also want it to be able to work as an automated irrigation system while offline. Thus, we divide the protocol for connecting to the WiFi network into two separate functions: WiFi_Setup_Step() and WiFi_Loop_Step(). The first one will configure the WiFi settings during the setup step, while the second one checks whether the board is connected to the network once every few seconds: if not, it will try to reconnect on the spot. This is done to prevent the program from stopping for too long in case it is unable to reconnect. Each attempt at connecting can take several seconds: trying unsuccessfully to connect to the network each cycle of the program would slow it down to a crawl, and impede its proper functioning. In order to control the timing of the attempts, the timer Connectionchrono is used.
