Source text - Russian Представление о параметрах трещиноватого массива первоначально основывалось на данных скважин заверочного бурения с поверхности и контрольно-стволовых скважин.
Для уточнения параметров трещиноватого массива было проведено геомеханическое описание керна скважин по фотографиям 36 скважин общим объемом 4981 п.м., залегающих непосредственно в горных выработках и охватывающих основные литологические рудовмещающие разности.
На основе проведенного описания создана электронная база данных геомеханического документирования керна.
По результатам геомеханического описания керна скважин рассчитаны рейтинговые показатели породного массива и создана база данных рейтинговых показателей, таких как RQD, FF, GSI, Q’, RMR.
Наиболее неблагоприятными с точки зрения устойчивости являются серицитовые породы, которые чаще всего располагаются в виде прожилков на контактах висячего бока.
Ввиду имеющихся случаев проявлений горного давления при проходке выработок на месторождении, были проведены исследования по определению уровня природного напряженно-деформированного состояния, для чего использовались методы тектонофизики (Гзовский) и проведены инструментальные замеры методом гидроразрыва скважин.
Установлено тектоническое поле напряжений с преобладанием горизонтальных компонент.
В качестве метода управления горным давлением предлагается способ формировании защитной зоны посредством создания разгрузочной щели перед забоем с последующим комуфлетным взрыванием.
В качестве инструментального метода локального прогноза удароопасности массива вокруг горных выработок предлагается метод дискования керна, который является наиболее распространенным из-за своей простоты.
Translation - English The fractured rock mass parameters were initially based on the confirmation drilling from the surface and pilot holes data.
To confirm the fractured rock mass parameters a geomechanical description of the core was made based on the photos of 36 holes with the total drilling length of 4,981 running meters located directly in the mine workings and covering the main lithological ore-bearing varieties.
An electronic database of the geomechanical core logging has been created based on the description above.
Using the geomechanical description of the core the rock ratings were calculated, and rating database with such parameters as RQD, FF, GSI, Q ', RMR was created.
From a stability point of view, sericite rocks that typically occur as the veinlets on the HW contacts are the most unfavourable.
Considering the cases of rock pressure manifestation in the development tunnels, studies were carried out to determine the level of the natural stress-strain state by tectonophysics methods (Gzovsky) and instrumental measurements by the hydraulic fracturing technique.
A tectonic stress field with a predominance of horizontal components is established.
It is proposed to generate a safe zone by drilling a relieve slot before the heading followed by camouflet blasting to manage the rock stress.
Local rock burst hazard can be predicted by an instrumental method of core disking, which is the most common because of its simplicity.

Source text - English High TAN crudes bring naphthenic acid corrosion, which is a particularly aggressive and often localized corrosion mechanism, characterized by the ‘orange peel’ effect.
While the majority of the issue is centred on the crude and vacuum distillation units, gas oil and residue products fed to downstream conversion and hydroprocessing units can also exhibit TAN levels that are problematic in feed section equipment fabricated from carbon steel.
The aggressiveness of naphthenic acid corrosion is a function of four key parameters within the plant.
Temperature
Naphthenic acid attack begins to manifest itself in areas of the crude and vacuum distillation units above approximately 200 °C to 220 °C (390 °F to 430 °F) – starting at the hot end of the preheat train, through the charge heater coils and affecting the lower section of the crude distillation tower, light and heavy gas oil side draws and residue product rundown until they are cooled back below this critical temperature threshold.
The danger areas are the same in the vacuum unit.

Source text - English An applicant company wishing to apply for Good Delivery status for its refinery must submit an application to the LBMA Executive using the application form given in Annex A.
If an applicant company feels that it is in need of a significant degree of assistance in preparing its application it may wish to contact one of the Facilitators listed in Annex L.
In such circumstances the applicant should approach a Facilitator directly to negotiate terms and fees for the provision of any assistance to be provided.
Applicants for gold accreditation must implement the LBMA Responsible Gold Guidance (see Section 12) and pass an audit prior to accreditation.
Applicants can submit an application to initiate the process in advance of passing such an audit, but full accreditation will not be granted until a satisfactory Responsible Gold audit report has been provided to the LBMA.
The application must be accompanied by a number of documents (which are described in detail in Annex A).
These should give a clear description of the ownership, operating history and financial position of the refinery, together with details of the Good Delivery bars produced.
The documents include a letter attesting to the applicant's standing from the central bank of the country in which the refinery is located.
If, however, the applicant's central bank is unwilling, as a matter of principle, to provide such a letter, then, by agreement with the LBMA, a letter of support from a suitable alternative organisation may be provided instead.

Source text - English Catchments are fragile ecosystems on which human settlements have historically depended for drinking water and sustenance, as well as social, cultural, economic and spiritual well-being. However, these social, cultural and ecological dimensions are juxtaposed with the economic value of water related to its use in various production processes. Without understanding the value of water from the perspective of diverse stakeholders, mining companies may pursue behaviours and take actions that could undermine trust and destroy relationships, while also increasing the cost of doing business.
Water availability is variable in time and space, while the short- and long-term future availability is uncertain. One river catchment may be suffering extended drought while neighbouring catchments may be experiencing devastating floods. Equally, a catchment may experience droughts and floods in quick succession. Understanding operational and strategic risk around water is therefore different from other natural resources.
Water is a finite but renewable resource, the availability of which is physically constrained by infrastructure and legally constrained by historical water rights systems. Although it may be more efficiently used, water cannot be substituted in most domestic and productive activities, and so even the most efficient operations can have an impact. The risks associated with scarcity are therefore very real at a catchment scale. Put simply, while there may be substitutes for carbon in energy production, only water can be used to drink or for irrigation.
Water is, essentially, a regional product. It is bulky and costly to move in the volumes typically required for production, which limits the distance it can be transferred between catchments. Because of this, and because of the fundamental flow of water from upstream to downstream users, risks and responses must be understood at a catchment scale.
