EN>ES translation of projects that range from small (2,000 words) to mid-size (30,000 words), requiring the use of different CAT Tools and applications (WorldServer, XTM, Trados, and OCR programs). For larger accounts, I also participate in the glossary and style guide creation and maintenance processes. Projects have been in the fields of human resources, employee training, education and testing (school system), health, maternity education, legal documentation, and miscellaneous government publications (welfare programs, health care programs, driver manuals, etc). I have expertise working for the US Hispanic market (“neutral” Spanish), and experience adapting translations for audiences with lower educational levels (lowering the register of the original text during the translation process).
As a freelance Localization PM, my responsibilities include: analyze source files and prepare a preliminary estimate (time and cost), find best resources and create a schedule, set client’s expectations regarding schedule, identify any generic or linguistic queries, coordinate the creation of a client specific glossary and style guide (if applicable), compile additional queries for client during Translation, coordinate and schedule of all tasks involved: T, E, DTP, proofing, final QA, as required based on project characteristics, and make all deliveries in compliance with QA standards and all meeting agreed-upon deadlines.
