I have a problem here with medierna which I have translated as media. However, is media in cases that appear in this sentence plural or not?

Media has less control for example

In the original text, you see media and medier. Should I just keep in as media in both cases?

media

Explanation:
Note I differ from J Tomkowicz in proposing only Media, without Medium, in this Marketing context. The OED defines MEDIA as "(usually the media) [treated as singular or plural] the main means of mass communication (especially television, radio, newspapers, and the Internet) regarded collectively", and goes on to say "In practice, in [this] sense media behaves as a collective noun (like staff or clergy, for example), which means that it is now acceptable in standard English for it to take either a singular or a plural verb."

Example sentence(s):
  • The media has not accepted outside regulation.
  • The media have not accepted outside regulation
