Spanish term or phrase: cámara
Hi all,

I am translating a text on religion in Spain and I am finding it hard to translate "cámara". This section of the text is about the process that Christian bodies go through after death in a hospital. The phrase is "...se encarga de limpiarlo, taponarlo y amortajarlo antes de trasladarlo a la cámara." I am unsure what the meaning of "cámara" is here.

Thanks in advance,

Zosia

In view of the process described, I reckon the body is being prepared to be exhibited before the funeral is carried out and the corpse taken to the cemetery or the crematorium

agree  Chema Nieto Castañón: Burial chamber? Aunque me sigue planteando alguna duda la referencia hospitalaria (por la posibilidad de cámara frigorífica), la preparación del cadáver sugiere que lo llevarán a la capilla ardiente (cámara mortuoria).
