My reading. The daughter is probably establishing a difference between her and her mother. When asked if they´re practicing Caholics, she replies she is, but stresses that she´s a practicing one whereas her mother isn´t. This is in my view the meaning of "solo que" in this context. The daughter wants to point out the difference between her and her mother in their approach to religion. In other words, your interpretation ("Yes, but I'm the only practising Catholic") is right. |
