Medical - Medical (general) / Pathology Report - Hysterectomy
Spanish term or phrase: OCEC
The following appears in a pathology report for a hysterectomy, in Argentina:
Pieza de histerectomía que mide 8 x 5 cm. Serosa lisa. Cuello uterino de 2.5 cm OCEC liso, canal endocervical permeable. La cavidad es triangular y mide 2.5 x 2 cm. Miometrio de 2.5 cm. Trompa uterina derecha de 4.6 cm. Anexo izquierdo con trompa uterina izquierda de 5 cm. Ovario de 1.5 x 1 cm.

Can anyone advise me what the acronym "OCEC" means in this context? I have considered "orificio del canal endocervical", but am really unsure.

Cheers,
John

neutral  philgoddard: But the question is OCEC//That doesn't seem to make grammatical sense, and it gets no hits.

-> OCEC is a synonym of OCE. Cervical canal, canal of the cervix, endocervical canal, cervical canal of uterus, cavity of cervix all are same.
