Spanish term or phrase: ingestión acumulada
SPAIN. This appears in an article on annual feeds made from agricultural by-products. I now that "ingestión" is intake, but am having a bit of a discussion with an editor about the best rendition for "acumulada" in this context.

"Se analizó la evolución de la ingestión acumulada de materia seca a lo largo del muestreo, mediante un modelo lineal mixto.

Explanation:
Not my area at all, but this seems plausible given the numerous research papers that mention the term.

Because there was no effect of dietary CP concentration on feed intake, the improved broiler BW gain could be attributed to a step-wise increase in the cumulative intake of both indispensable and dispensable AA as dietary concentrations of balanced CP increased

Differences in cumulative intake between animals receiving standard and FBZ-supplemented diets did not reach statistical significance on any day

In the end, no one has been able to confirm whether cumulative/accumulated mean exactly the same thing, but heigh-ho, it's not the end of the world… :)

Notes to answerer
Asker: The choices we are considering are 'cumulative' and 'accumulated'. The authors want to use the latter, but I think the former may be more appropriate. A search for "cumulative intake" gets several thousands more hits than for "accumulated"...

Asker: The thing is, I'm not sure if cumulative/accumulated mean exactly the same thing in the context...
