Spanish term

desplugó (typo)

Spanish to English Social Sciences History Habsburg-Lorraines
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to pick your brains as to the possible verb that should have been used instead of the typo above.

Here's the context:

From exhibition panels on Archduke Ludwig Salvator, discussing the reasons why no copies of a particular work by the Archduke can't be found anywhere (it seems the main part of the print run was destroyed due to offence caused by the paragraph mentioned above).

As you can see, the "desplugó" is acknowledged as a typo, but - and maybe I'm just being dense today - I don't know what he wanted to say. Any ideas what verb this was meant to be?

Well found, Peter Guest! Yes, this does seem to be a form of (des)placer! Googling the term on its own (I'd assumed it was a "proper" typo, based on the "[sic]", I find this Wordref entry: http://forum.wordreference.com/showthread.php?t=2813980 among other interesting links. Thanks very much!

Note from asker:
Nice tip, thanks Marina. I had been searching for alternative spellings based on the "[sic]": it hadn't occurred to me that the only error was the tilde!
