Spanish term or phrase: obligaciones y prestaciones
This is a section of a text reviewing some of Marx's thought on alienation and work:

Por tanto, el trabajo en el cual el hombre se encuentra enajenado, no le pertenece a él, sino a otro hombre. Este señalamiento fundamental de Marx –punto de partida para cualquier sociología relacional futura–, nos presenta al mundo moderno como un entramado de obligaciones y prestaciones forzadas entre los hombres.

Benefits seems too contemporary. The Spanish seems to be a phrase Marx is known for

On the one hand, morality has been viewed as centrally concerned with the duties and obligations one person owes to another. So viewed, morality is characterised by certain notions such as duty, obligation, guilt, justice, rights, etc.

rights and obligations

Explanation:
I don't think "benefits" is wrong, but "rights" is a near synonym, as is "entitlements". All of us enjoy rights - other people's obligations to us - and have obligations to other people.

benefits and burdens

Explanation:
Pace John R. in a different corporate context - see the second ProZ 'ancillary obligations' weblink, I think prestaciones is the benefits component and Marx's idea has, confusingly, been inverted in the Spanish.

Example sentence(s):
  • Justice (if we do not think of it simply as a matter of rights and duties) can bethought of similarly as consisting of principles on which benefits and burdens are distributedin cases where interests conflict.

duties and payments

Explanation:
The answer could be any of 'obligations', 'duties' and 'payments', 'loans' or 'performance'. The example sentence below is full of negativity regarding working relationships with resounding conditions of hard labour.

Obligations are duties.

I understand firstly that 'prestaciones forzadasas' are 'compulsory payments' or 'loan payments'. In this sense they are duties. After further consideration I believe that the obligations are working responsibilities while duties to pay may be separate though connected with the same. If 'prestaciones' are benefits then they may be about money payments as well as the rights of employees as either (or both) statutory or contractual parts of the conditions of employment.

Example sentence(s):
  • Este señalamiento fundamental de Marx - punto de partida para cualquier sociología relacional futura - nos presenta al mundo moderno como un entramado de obligaciones y prestaciones forzadas entre los hombres.
  • This Marxist fundamental denotation - starting point for any relational sociology with a future - presents the modern world to us like a framework of duties and enforced payments or working performances among men.

neutral  David Hollywood: payments in this context?

  -> 'Prestaciones' are payments or benefits. It mentions '.. prestaciones forzadas entre los hombres', referring to an enforcement among men. If 'payments' or 'benefits' is inappropriate then it may be about enforced production and output.

neutral  AllegroTrans: "The answer could be"? Once again, you've just looked in a dictionary and ignored the CONTEXT. Do you understand what we are saying here? Translation isn't simply looking up words. If it was, there would be no need for this forum.
