Tech/Engineering - Construction / Civil Engineering / plasterboard
Spanish term or phrase: transformados
The text comes for the website of a construction materials company specialising in plasterboard panels:

Elementos de acero laminados en frío destinados a ser utilizados en trabajos de construcción, junto con las placas y ***transformados*** de yeso laminado , en las que el conjunto no es portante.

Obviously some sort of plasterboard, based product... but what?

Many thanks!

composite gypsum boards
Explanation:
Made with gypsum PLUS other materials, thus "transforming" them into something better.

neutral  Neil Ashby: "transformados" looks like it's being used as a noun in the problem text and I can't see how "produced" would be a noun. "products" maybe?

I agree with Neil, and it seems to imply a third element "yeso laminado" (plasterboard). I found this, but whether this is of much help, I am unsure: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/222537118_Behaviour...
Gypsum plasterboard is a common lining material used in cold-formed steel wall frame systems. It is used either with lipped or unlipped (plain) C-section studs in the construction of both the load bearing and non-load bearing walls in residential, industrial and commercial buildings. The design of these wall frames does not utilise the full strengthening effects of the plasterboard in carrying the axial loads. An experimental study has shown that the strength of the studs in compression was increased significantly when they were lined with plasterboard on one or both sides.

In general, gypsum plasterboards are screwed at 200 mm spacing along the edge studs where plasterboard joints exist and 300 mm spacing along the intermediate studs. Past research studies and available design rules [1][2][3][4][5] show that plasterboard lining on both sides of the studs prevents the occurrence of minor axis buckling and twisting of the stud sections. It is also likely to restrict the occurrence of local and distortional bucking modes depending on the screw spacing used. ...

... The current method of designing the load-bearing LSF walls in the Australian Standard for coldformed steel structures AS/NZS 4600 [1] is considered to be conservative according to Telue and Mahendran [2]. Although gypsum plasterboard lining is not considered as a structural element in the design of LSF walls, experimental studies have shown that the compression strength of studs significantly increased with plasterboard lining on both sides of studs due to a higher level of lateral restraints [2,3]. AS/NZS 4600 [1] design methods allow for plasterboard lining to provide minor axis (in the plane of the wall) and twist restraints, provided both ends of the studs are restrained against rotation about the longitudinal axis and horizontal displacement perpendicular to the longitudinal axis and that plasterboard lining is connected to the top and bottom tracks. ...

I haven't downloaded the full article which can be requested apparently by e-mail ... LOL -- then you sit and wait and hope that you receive it!! (???).
