Valorisation of by-products or waste-streams Explanation: From what I can glean this is about a fish processing company who claim to have succeeded in utilising (or finding customers that will utilise) 100% of the raw materials from the fish that are supplied to its factories. 45% of it is used for human consumption and pet consumption through the it's own brands and pet food. 35% (eg fishmeal and fish oils) is taken by the aquaculture sector and other related industries, and the remaining 20% goes to new recovery processes to produce products for pharmaceutical or cosmetic industries. This is called valorisation of by-products or waste-streams whereby the by-products and/or waste are converted into high added-value products for market applications. This is described in the following reference from the European Commission https://cordis.europa.eu/programme/id/H2020_BBI-2016-F01 and in https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S002203021... (relating to the milk industry), and also https://www.ellenmacarthurfoundation.org/assets/downloads/pu... . Example sentence(s):
