The "peine" is not called the flyloft in English; it's called the grid or gridiron, as correctly noted in a previous question:
http://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish_to_english/architecture/86...

"GRID (GRIDIRON): Framework of steel or wooden beams over the stage used to support the sets of lines employed in flying scenery. "

agree  Robert Carter: Was just about to post the same terms. There's a diagram here that shows it http://theatreprojects.com/files/pdf/Resources_IdeasInfo_par...
4 mins
  -> Thanks Robert. Appreciate it.

agree  Charles Davis: No problem, Taña. This is correct and since there are a couple of incorrect entries for "peine (escénico)" it doesn't hurt to have it again. // Nothing to apologise for, really! Anyway, if you hadn't posted it someone else would have done.
4 mins
  -> Thank you so much Charles. Accept my apologies again, please....

agree  Muriel Vasconcellos
24 mins
  -> Thank you so much.

agree  Marie Wilson: Hi Taña, doing great thanks, hope you are too!
40 mins
  -> Thank you so much Marie. Hope all is well? // Likewise, all is good! Thx.

agree  JohnMcDove: To help or not to help, that's what matters... ;-) (Thank you for posting!)

Reference information:
The correct term for a theatrical "peine" in English is grid or gridiron, also grid deck. Here's question on "contrapeine" (upper grid/gridiron), which I answered, with a lot of references. As I explain there, it's not the flyloft, which is the space above the grid.
https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/other/6010621-...

Another question on "peine" here; the chosen answer, "gridiron", is correct:
https://esl.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/architecture/8...

Here "stage rigging" was chosen and "fly system" was entered in the glossary. These terms are not accurate; they're too broad:
https://www.proz.com/kudoz/spanish-to-english/tech-engineeri...

Wikipedia is very good on this:

agree  Robert Carter: Ah, I remember that posting now, nicely done. Although, looking at the reference I posted in my agree to Taña, is it possible "contrapeine" refers to the "forestage grid"?//Ok, good to know, Charles.
11 mins
  -> Thanks, Robert. All the definitions of contrapeine I found last time and others I've just found now specify that it is above the peine. I think forestage grid would be peine de proscenio, but I'm not sure if there's another term for it.
agree  bigedsenior: grid! far more common than gridiron
2 hrs
  -> Thanks, biged :-) I'd say it's more common too.
agree  JohnMcDove: Por fin me entero de lo que vale un peine... ¿o no? ;-)
3 hrs
  -> ¡Nunca mejor dicho! Muchas gracias y saludos, John ;-)
