loop feed Explanation: Systems Configuration Section: A loop system is fed by two different feeders – one connected to each end of the loop. Theoretically, the entire loop of transformers could be fed by either source, or the transformers can be split up between the two sources, depending on where an “open point” is created. In the event of a failed underground cable, this open point is “moved” (by using load-break switches or elbows), so that no customers are out of power while the cable is repaired. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 15 hrs (2021-04-05 07:30:08 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/products/medium-voltage-power... Under Section System configurations ''A Radial System employs one dedicated transformer to serve a customer or group of customers. The drawback is the fact that if there is a failure in the distribution line all of the customers downstream from the problem are without power.'' -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 16 hrs (2021-04-05 07:38:55 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- For further readings, hook to the link below: https://www.eaton.com/us/en-us/site-search.searchTerm$loop%20feed%20.tabs$all.html -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 hrs (2021-04-05 08:57:31 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or follow the path below: 1. //www.eaton.com/ 2. connected in sequence or daisy-chain mode (or in line, or by tapping) Explanation: I spent several hours first looking for references for this rare term and then for suitable translations for it. Most of the references referred to feedthroughs (bushings), which do not apply here. Finally, I got some circumscriptions. Coffret de distribution type passage en coupure en charge PCC https://www.groupe-cahors.com/fr-coteivoire/coffret-de-distr... (Note: Example for non-pertinent applications) Norme Française NF C 17-200 24 septembre 2016 C 17-200 Installations électriques extérieures : Figure 54D Mise à la terre par passage en coupure et connexion dans le CANDELABRE Dans tous les cas, il est recommandé que la partie du conducteur assurant la mise à la terre du CANDELABRE située en dehors du sol ait une longueur suffisante afin de ne pas risquer d'être rompu en cas de renversement accidentel du CANDELABRE https://docplayer.fr/74882403-Nf-c-septembre-2016-c.html Note: Fig. 54 D shows all protective conductor terminals connected in series, i.e. that all terminals are connected by handing over the continuous protective earth conductor or by tapping or connecting the conductor in line or series. My approach: The HV connection includes: -the feeder and the overhead line connected either to a power plant or a substation where HV voltage is available, or by looping through (connecting) to the nearest line, which must be equipped with line protection compatible with that already existing on the entire network A line tap is any connection made to a transmission or distribution power line in parallel called a feeder. It will have some sort of fused or breakered disconnect. Here is a schematic of a substation. I have circled in blue all the line taps. https://www.quora.com/What-is-a-line-tap-For-example-may-a-s... In electrical and electronic engineering, a daisy chain is a wiring scheme in which multiple devices are wired together in sequence or in a ring,[1] similar to a garland of daisy flowers. Other than a full, single loop, systems which contain internal loops cannot be called daisy chains.[citation needed] Daisy chains may be used for power, analog signals, digital data, or a combination thereof. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Daisy_chain_(electrical_engine... (Note: 'Daisy chain' is used mostly in electronics, but I consider it being applicable in our power electricity context as well) A daisy chain connection has little resemblance to a daisy flower, at least not visually. In electronics, a daisy chain connection involves connecting multiple devices sequentially in an uninterrupted cable connection. Depending on the requirements, the last device on the loop may or may not connect to the first. https://resources.altium.com/p/keep-petals-optimizing-daisy-...
