English term or phrase: Striking and fielding

Syllabus: This term our subject has been *striking and fielding*.

batear y atrapar la pelota
Explanation:

https://slideplayer.com/slide/4235004/
"Rounders is a game played between two teams each alternating between batting and fielding. The game originated in England and has been played there since Tudor times, with the earliest reference being in 1744 in A Little Pretty Pocket-Book where it is called "baseball". It is a striking and fielding team game, which involves hitting a small, hard, leather-cased ball with a round wooden, plastic or metal bat and then running around four bases in order to score. The game is popular in the UK and Ireland among school girls.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rounders
Rounders (Irish: cluiche corr) is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams.

Saludos

agree  Neil Ashby: Maybe "recoger" instead of "atrapar", as fielding involves catching and/or stopping the ball before returning it to one or more of the bases. If not "recoger", something else that is maybe a bit more general than "atrapar". I used to love rounders... ;@)

-> Thanks Neil!! I didn´t know this sport was the "father" of base-ball"... atrapar is correct since it is general (catch something in the air or field), since "recoger" is used only to pick up something or someone. Cheers! Abel

agree  Lydia De Jorge: Si. Atrapar es la palabra correcta. Saludos!
