idolatrar Definition from Real Diccionario de la Academia Español: Accepted term by the Real Dictionary of the Spanish Academy. Spanish definition: "2. tr. Amar o admirar con exaltación a alguien o algo. Era u. t. c. intr." English translation: "2. tr. To love or admire somebody or something with zeal." Example sentence(s):
Explanation: My colleague Mónica Algazi has indeed showns a great word for it as a noun ("fanático"), which is not to be discarded (my congratulations for that proposal). In line with her contributión, the verb more closely associated to that term necessarily needs to be a phrase: "ser fanático/a de...", literally translating as "being a stan fan of". Nothing closer comes to my mind including the term "fanático" ("freak", "zealot", "enthusiast"). My word is another approach which simplifies the word count and still implies a similar meaning, and being accepted in our language dictionary I understand it fits with your needs for a glossary entry to be created. |
