English term or phrase: via medina
Hi everyone,

I'm a Translation student and I'm trying to translate a philosophy text by Mary Magada-Ward called "why pragmatists should not be cyborgs"
I have to translate the text (actually a portion of it) from English to Spanish and I have found some difficulties when looking up an equivalent for the words I have indicated.

"My aim is to show that the classical pragmatism of Peirce and James provides a via medina between the enforcement of entrenched dichotomies and the morass of complete boundary confusion."

what does via medina mean?
Thanks!

vía media

Explanation:
There are a number of streets in Italy called via Medina, but I don't think it means anything as a philosophical term in English. But via media (which is Latin for middle way or middle path) certainly does, and fits the context perfectly, so I'm sure this is a typo and that the "n" should not be there.

It's the same in Spanish, vía media, but with an accent on vía, because it's been Hispanicised.

The published text has "via medina", but that doesn't mean it's not a typo. Many published texts contain typos.

agree  JohnMcDove: Pues como digo siempre: "el que tiene boca se equivoca" y "el que tiene tecla se equivecla"... ;-) /./ Sin duda, me recuerda un artículo de Reverte en el que hablaba de los "gazapos" en sus propias obras... (te lo incluyo en la discussion).
