Sredstva preduzeća su ekonomske vrednosti kojima se ostvaruju ciljevi odnosno obavljaju poslovi i zadaci preduzeća. Prema zakonskim propisima sredstva preduzeća se grupišu u:
1.poslovnu aktivu
2.vanposlovnu aktivu

Poslovna aktiva obuhvata: upisan a ne uplaćen kapital, stalna (osnovna) sredstva,obrtna sredstva, aktivna vremenska razgraničenja. Što sve u celini čini poslovna sredstva. Ovima se dodaje gubitak iznad trajnog kapitala i dobija se poslovna aktiva.
Vanposlovna aktiva obuhvata: sredstva zajedničke potrošnje za potrebe stanovanja, sredstva zajedničke potrošnje za druge potrebe i ostala vanposlovna sredstva.
