Zawód coolhunter, choć wciąż nie jest wyjątkowo popularny w Polsce, od 2010 roku figuruje w klasyfikacji zawodów i specjalności prowadzonej przez Ministerstwo Pracy i Polityki Społecznej (kod: 243101). Nie bez przyczyny znajduje się w kategorii „specjalistów do spraw reklamy i marketingu". Osoba na tym stanowisku najczęściej współpracuje z agencjami reklamowymi albo działami marketingu.
