This is a text about the dry period of the Ganges in India. What is not clear to me, is the part of the sentence "waiting for when nature will oblige" - is it "helfen" here? Thanks a lot.

agree  Gerald Maass: Allerdings die Handelnden im Singular (Mensch und Tier), wenn es um die Gattung geht und nicht um bestimmte Individuen und statt "ein Einsehen hat" vielleicht schöner "sich erbarmt", was dasselbe ist, aber in meinen Ohren besser klingt.
