Precision medicines can identify biological information (genes, RNA/DNA, or proteins) to stratify patients, targeting those patients most likely to respond to a specific treatment. In precision medicine, diagnosis and treatment are intrinsically linked. While this field has evolved using different names (personalized medicine, targeted treatment, individualized care, etc.), for the purposes of this report, the current preferred term is “precision medicine.”
