Jaboulet Le nom est porté notamment dans l'Ardèche et la Drôme. Variantes ou formes voisines : Jaboulay (42), Jabouley (42, 71). Ces noms sont à rapprocher de Jabouille (19, 23) et de Jaboulin (71, 70, 69). Jabouille devrait être une variante de Gabouille, toponyme ayant dans le Mâconnais et en Savoie le sens d'eau bourbeuse (cf. l'occitan gabolhar = patauger, barboter). Il est probable que tous les autres noms aient le même sens. |
