I'm looking for a nice clinical trials term for this concept. The EC has basically said it will not approve the protocol yet, until it obtains answers to various questions.

NL Betreft: Aanhouding Studie XX: ... In afwachting van uw schriftelijke reactie houdt de commissie het onderzoeksvoorstel aan.
EN RE: Hold/Adjournment?? : ... In anticipation of your written replies, the Committee has ... your study proposal.
