neutral  Linda Al-Bairmani: I believe when it comes to names one transliterates sounds not letters I would go for ad-deen

neutral  Saleh Dardeer: None pronounces it mohiuddin. Mohie Al-Din the laam letter should not be transliterated. it is not pronounced because it is laam shamsiyyah

`Alam, not `Ilm it is
في اللغة بمعنى العلامة، والوسم، والعلم، والرسم، والجبل، والأثر، والراية . أما في التعريف الاصطلاحي، فالعلم هو الاسم الذي يعين مسماه مطلقا. وقد يدل على اسم شخص، أو اسم حيوان، أو اسم مكان، أو اسم شيء.

Proper noun

Explanation:
مُحْيي الدين This name(proper noun is pronounced Muhyi*din.
The deason why I put "* " is to inform you that d has got a stress before it.But becareful not to pro nounce the ال because د belongs to one of the arabic letters which are a-sh-msiya. These letters do not want ل to be pronounced.
اسم علم But this one is proounced as Issmu alam meaning proper noun.
The reason why I used double s is to inform you that the s in Issmu is pronounced as s as in "best" but it is not pronounced as s as in "plasma".
