  • 1 - What is Translator Group Buying (TGB)?

    TGB is a tool offered to give an opportunity for translators buying CAT tools and other software together to get a lower price and realize significant savings through group buying.

  • 2 - What is a CAT tool?

    CAT stands for "Computer Aided Translation Tool". The terms "Translation Memory" and "TM" are sometimes used to refer to the same type of tool. A CAT tool is a computer program that helps a translator to work efficiently.

  • 3 - Where can I see the current campaigns?

    To review the current campaigns and/or sign up for any campaign you are interested click here .

  • 4 - How can I see the details for a given campaign package?

    To see the details for a given campaign package just click on the name of the campaign link. This will take you to a page where you will find all the details about that package including a description of the product and information about the discount offered.

  • 5 - Is VAT included in the price?

    No, VAT is not included in the price. Before the purchase of the software please check the following: if you live in the EU and you are not registered for European VAT, due to the national regulations VAT will be charged by the manufacturer/seller of software. EU citizens can check their VAT number here

  • 6 - I have found a campaign for which I would like to sign up. What should I do?

    To sign up for a given campaign package just click on the "Join the group of buyers now" link.

    You will be then asked to confirm your commitment to the purchase.

  • 7 - I joined a purchase group but the number of buyers has not reached the total required and the sale closing date is due soon. Will the purchase be made all the same?

    It depends. Some TGBs close on the closing date even if the target number of buyers has not been reached. However, in most cases if the target number has not been reached by the closing date, the purchase is then made when the required number of buyers do join in.

  • 8 - I have joined a purchase group. The required number for the group purchase has been reached and the sale closes today. What will happen now?

    You will receive an email containing the call for payments with the link to make your payment an complete the purchase. These emails are automated and can get caught in SPAM or JUNK folders. Please check your SPAM or JUNK folder. If you have still not received the payment link, please submit a support request here

  • 9 - A TGB I am listed on has ended and I see other people have paid. How can I pay?

    Payment information for TGBs is sent by email after the requirements are met. If you have not received an email with the payment information, check your Junk mail folder. If it's not there, please submit a support request and site staff will provide the necessary information.

  • 10 - Should I send a confirmation of my payment to staff?

    Yes, once you have made your payment you should send a confirmation email to the TGB Team at [email protected] so that your payment status is updated on the TGB page. Please include your payment confirmation for reference.

  • 11 - Does the link to make the payment have an expiration date?

    Yes, after you receive the email with the link to make your payment you will have a limited time (around three business days) to make your payment. If the link expires before you make your payment, you will have to join a new TGB.

  • 12 - What is the required number of buyers for a purchase to take place?

    The required number of buyers varies between 20 - 50 depending on each campaign package.

  • 13 - I think my colleagues will be interested in a TGB. Is there an easy way to let them know?

    Yes, you can use the "Tell a friend" feature to inform your colleagues about a given TGB campaign.

  • 14 - I was in the waiting list of a TGB but the purchase has closed today and I was not included in it. Will my name be automatically included in the next TGB for this product?

    No, being in the waiting list enables you to receive a notification when a new TGB for that product is released. This notification will remind you to join the new TGB but you will have to join the group again.

  • 15 - What is a wish list?

    A wish list is a place where you can express your desired prices for potential group buys.

  • 16 - How can I access the wish list page?

    You can see the wish list here.

  • 17 - I cannot find the product of my interest listed in any wish list. What can I do?

    You can create a wish list for that product by clicking on the "Add a TGB wish list entry" link.

  • 18 - Is SDL TRADOS distributed on a CD with physical packaging, or by downloading the software?

    SDL TRADOS is distributed by downloading it from SDL's website. "Material packs" with physical CDs and documentation can be bought separately from SDL for around $50.

  • 19 - How can I get another copy of SDL TRADOS if my computer crashes or I need to reinstall for some reason?

    You can download and install the software on as many computers as you wish, however you will need to deactivate and reactivate the license on each computer preventing you from running the software on two computers concurrently. If you wish to have two active/concurrent installations you would need to buy the "plus" version of the software. If your computer crashes or you need another copy for some reason, please contact the SDL TRADOS customer service team or check within your SDL My Account for license reactivation.

  • 20 - I bought Trados/Wordfast but I didn't receive the license key/can not download/can not install it.

    When you buy software at, we send all the information to the company involved. We are only promoting their products and giving our members special prices, but we don't do support for these softwares.
    If you have problems with licenses keys, downloading, using, or just have a question about any of these products, please contact support in those companies.

  • 21 - I have already paid and I keep getting payment emails and notices?

    If you are receiving payment reminders or requests it is because your status has not been updated to “paid” on the TGB page where you participated. If you have made a payment for a TGB you should have also received a receipt, or license #. Simply email [email protected] with this number and you will be marked as paid and no longer receive these notifications.

  • 22 - I paid but have not received my license certificate or receipt yet?

    If you pay by credit card the transaction is very quick and you should receive your license # or receipt within a few hours and no later than 24-36 hours. Please also check your spam or junk folder as these emails are auto generated and often get caught in Spam filters. If you pay by wire transfer, check, money order or other method it will take a little longer to process. Payments by wire transfer and check may take as long as 3-5 business days to get processed. If you paid via PayPal or money bookers (only available on select TGB’s) you will also have to inform staff as instructed in the TGB payment email.
