No text to translate at cursos position

I am working with Trados 7.1. Everything went smoothly until I got the above message, when trying to open a new segment.
It's a common Word document.

Trados lost the plot Jan 31, 2007

Hi Elinor,

When this happens to me it's just that Trados lost the plot for some unknown reason. I press Fix document and this usually seems to resolve whatever issues Trados had. The other option is to close Trados (and Word) and reopen the programs.

Automatically generated text? Jan 31, 2007

Hi Elinor,

the same has happened to me, when the cursor is positioned in front of an automatically generated text (such as index etc.). Just continue translating the rest of the text and at the end press F9 after having placed the cursor in the index (for example). In this way all the translations of titles, etc. will be entered as well in the index.

Thanks for your help, but...

Marijke, I pressed Fix Document and nothing happened.

Heike, it's just plain text, no indexes whatsoever.

Anyway, thanks again. Maybe this text part is corrupt?
I'm lost...
