We have power cuts once or twice a year and so far working on a laptop always saved me from any inconveniences...
The only real problem is the internet connection which really is unreliable here. That's why I have two backup connections (UMTS/3G and my neighbour, who has another internet provider).

Mediamarkt sells them in Spain, but their website is very limited and UPSs aren't even listed online as far as I can see.

The two that immediately spring to my mind are Amazon and Conrad. I would have thought that there are hundreds.

Bearing in mind the weight of these devices, it's not surprising that neither Amazon nor Conrad will ship them abroad.

I wasn't aware that either of those companies were aware of the concept of "abroad". I have ordered from both of them in the UK, in the Netherlands and in France. I believe Conrad is a German company and Amazon is American, but they seem to exist with all the usual extensions to their web sites.

If they don't have "branches" in Spain then, yes, it would be more difficult. Sorry, I can't help you further.

I thought I owned a UPS... until one day, in the middle of a power failure, I found out the ^&*%% UPS was not working...
So I mostly rely on the battery of my laptop...
