Spanish term

CLIENTE NO TRAE CK. VB

Spanish to English Bus/Financial Finance (general) Banking statement - Costa Rica
The posted term appears as an entry for what appears to be a deposit within a bank statement for a bank in Costa Rica, as follows:

DATE NUMBER DESCRIPTION AMOUNT DAILY BALANCE
July 30 BD98854 NATIONAL BANK OF COSTA RICA / CLIENTE NO TRAE CK. VB 9128 6,500.00+ 876.00

*******

I understand the literal meaning of "cliente no trae ck." and I assume that "VB" is for "Visto Bueno" (i.e., approved). But what does the string of words actually mean in the context of an entry for a deposit in a bank statement?

Thank you.

Could it be 'NO' are the customer's initials? Could VB 9128, be the number of the bank account upon which the check is drawn? 'NO' could be 'NOS'. A lot of variables here on which to speculate. And what about the 6500 + 876? What kind of a check is that?

@Phil "Client does not have check. Approved."

Hi Robert What is the literal meaning?

Curiosity got the better of me! My reading is that the word "check" (the English term) appears to denote the "visto bueno" (approval), but I may be off base!

See examples, albeit not from Costa Rica.

CLIENTE NO TRAE CK. VB 9128 6,500.00+876.00. What does 9128 mean? (the approval number)?

Robert, my reading is "Client has not brought /does not have check approval number", assuming 9128 is the approval number as opposed to the way you've split the wording (Client does not have check. Approved.)

Please disregard my two references above. I am more inclined to believe that the reading should be "Client has not brought /does not have check approval number", assuming 9128 is the approval number".

HTH!

Thanks Robert for that. Interesting! Strange use of "trae", which I assume should have been something like "no tiene la autorización ..." Good that you were able to resolve. Regards.
Note from asker:
I assume that "9128" is the approval number, but I have no idea what the transaction is, or what is being approved.
Thanks so much for your help. I was able to find out that the situation reflected was that the account holder did not hold authority to write checks, and a bank draft was issued. 😊
