From a product description:

Tessuto pettinato in pura lana merinos, finestrato, quindi adatto, in particolar modo nella coloritura grigia chiara, alla realizzazione di un abito sportivo da giorno.

I don't have any more context.

Thanks very much.

Discussion

Isabelle Johnson (asker) Oct 5, 2012:
In my experience people often don't mention possible translations. My research was not up to scratch on this occasion as I found when I checked after your first message. However, I genuinely HAD done research and do not appreciate your rather humiliating one liners on this or other occasions.
philgoddard Oct 5, 2012:
You didn't mention having done any research, or having any thoughts about possible translations, so I assumed you hadn't. KudoZ is supposed to be a last resort.
Isabelle Johnson (asker) Oct 5, 2012:
Yes I have. I'm not sure why you had results and I didn't but I don't really appreciate your tone.
philgoddard Oct 5, 2012:
Isabelle Have you done any research yourself? I Googled "tessuto finestrato"and found the answer within about 20 seconds.

overcheck (tweed)

The term seems to be 'overcheck' and is used in relation to tweed, for example see link below...
Peer comment(s):

neutral Vitaliy Rysyuk : In this context, it's not fabric proper but a technique used.
