French term or phrase: Régime à vide
I'm translating an instruction manual for a power-assisted winch handle, and have come across a term in the specs I don't really understand.

It's in a table with a bunch of other information about the handle- I'm including several lines above and below to give you an idea:

Puissance utile max 350 W
Durée de recharge approximative 90 min
**Régime à vide** de l’embout 15-80 tr.min-1
Couple maximal 80 Nm
Effort maximal de l’utilisateur sur la poignée 32 Kg

In other documents I've translated for the same client, he talks about reaching between 15-80 rpm rotation speed with the winch handle. So I guess I'm trying to figure out what "régime à vide" means in this table since it seems to translate as idle mode or an empty mode, which doesn't really made sense to me in this context. "Embout" here refers to the drive head of the winch handle.

Is there anyone out there who understands this term and could explain it to me?

Thanks so much!

US English is fine.

No-load speed
Explanation:
It's the speed the winch rotates at if it's not actually lifting (or lowering) anything. It could be slower/faster with a load on it.

Yes, that should work.

Notes to answerer
Asker: ah-ha, that makes sense now. Thanks so much for your quick reply! Would "no-load speed of the drive head" work then?

Asker: Thanks a million, I've been tearing my hair out on this one!

Idle mode

Explanation:

Dans le régime à vide, les roulements du moteur de la broche et la turbulence de l'air, circulant avec une grande vitesse [...]

In an idle mode the main sources of noise are bearings of spindle motor and turbulence of air circulating with a great speed in the hermetic block.
