The maple 5 ply 5mm snare was not only a lovely looking instrument (and with only 8 double ended lugs again had a hint of the traditional) but it was also well rounded in the way that I like a 14” – just enough reaction from the wires, cutting but thick and fat when hit in the centre, lots of shell tone near the rims and quite snappy from the audience point of view (I offered this to fellow drummer Joe Skingsley of the band Sketched to ***play on a kit share gig*** as he had very kindly offered the use of his kit). A very dynamic drum, this sounded great at low and high volume levels and for the extra 6th gear, the rim shots were beltingly loud and cutting to the point of upsetting guitarists (which is one good reason to do them!). It reminded me of orchestral snare drums and indeed I was able to tune it to offer very much this warm, snappy traditional sound.

Note from asker:
Смысл-то понятен, но "капустник" сюда как-то не вполне вписывается... |
