Насколько я поняла, имеется в виду, что альбом до сих пор считается самым лучшим ("вердикт не отменён"). Правда, не знаю, как это толком перевести.

: very confusing wording indeed, I was inclined to favour your option, but chose against it after some pondering. 'verdict is in' also means the decision was taken and '... still out' seems to be its opposite

: "The verdict is still out" is the colloquial opposite expression to "The verdict is in" - meaning the jury has come in with a verdict. i.e. the original phrase means: no decision has been reached yet.
