Tenants of the facility share a number of support services including computers, support staff, telecommunications equipment, and janitorial services. インキュベーター（いんきゅべーた、英称：Incubator）とは直訳すると孵化器の意味で、起業に関する支援を行う者（事業者）をいう。広義には既存事業者の新規事業を含む起業支援のための制度、仕組み、施設等を含めていう場合もある。起業支援の概念を指す場合にはインキュベーション（Incubation）ともいう。<br /><br />インキュベーターの支援機能としては、起業に伴うハード面の支援とソフト面の支援とがあり、前者は主に事業に必要な施設や設備等の支援、後者は運営、管理等の支援がある。インキュベーション事業が発達している米国では主にソフト面の支援が充実している。それに対し、日本のインキュベーション事業は官主導による施設支援、つまり、ハード面の支援が強くなっている。
