Most már látom, hogy igazad van a 'line'-t illetően. Én először a "hardliner" mintájára asszociáltam, de itt tényleg a "line executives"-ról lehet szó.

Szerintem itt a 'line' csak annyit jelent, hogy a vezetők a 'heavy-hitting' fajtából valók. Magyarban nem fogunk tudni erre baseball ihletésű kifejezést találni.

a line manager nem valamilyen vonalbeli igazgató, hanem valamilyen speciális igazgató, pl. termékigazgató (tipikusan a line lehet a product line rövid alakja ilyen szerkezetekben).

Találtam számtalan példát erre a kifejezésre a magyar oldalakon.

Itt egy idézet a HVG-ből:

"Azt az embert ismerik el nagy kaliberű vezetőnek, aki...."

Szerintem illik ide, mivel mindkét kifejezést kapcsolatba lehet hozni - persze csak átvitt értelemben - lőszerrel vagy lőfegyverrel.

Kriszta, miért nem hozzászólásban küldted az idézetet? Még annyit, hogy a "line manager" egész biztosan vonalbeli menedzsert jelent - ez a menedzsment szakkifejezés a "törzskari" (staff) menedzserek ellentéte, akik a tervezésért, míg a vonalbeliek a végrehajtásért felelősek."
