जैसे कि जो गरजते हैं वो बरसते नहीं, अंग्रेज़ी की कहावत barking dogs seldom bite का सार उचित रूप से प्रस्तुत करता है। यदि भौंकने वाले कुत्ते कदाचित काठते हैं लिखा जाता तो क्या यह एक अच्छा अनुवाद है? मेरे विचार से "click-and-mortar" को भी इसी दृष्टि से देखा जाना चाहिए। brick-and-mortar का सार है वास्तविक रूप से प्रस्तुत अथवा एसी कोई चीज़ जिसे छु सको, देख सको, भीतर जा सको आदि। अतः शायद मोर्टार के स्थान पर गल्ला, दुकान, दोहडी जैसे किसी शब्द का प्रयोग उचित जान पड़ता है।
