Dutch term

4/1e, 4/2e, 330 wk, 332 hs (property abbreviations)

Dutch to English Bus/Financial Real Estate
I have been given a list of 'Achterstanden huurafrekening' from a property management company.

Listed under complex/naam/huisnummer I have things like
[Naam] 4/1e
[Naam] 4/2e
[Naam] 4/3e
[Naam] 330 wk
[Naam] 332 hs
[Naam] 340 huis

I'm not sure if 1e, 2e etc. are flats, floors or what. I don't know what wk is, and I guess hs is huis.

I've never come across one of these before, so any help would be appreciated.

FullCircle (X) Oct 7, 2004:
hs does not mean huursubsidie but huis, which in turn does not mean house but ground floor. On top of 4-hs you have 4-1st floor, 4-2nd floor etc., normally abbreviated as 4-1, 4-2, 4-3 or 4-I, 4-II, 4-III. And fyi: in Haarlem they use rood and zwart.

Didn't know u had such addresses since I'm not so rich, have only '20'. U might be right: je hebt ze goed op een rijtje.
Non-ProZ.com Oct 7, 2004:
hs wk I agree with the wk being winkel, but I do think hs must mean ground floor apartment, because I have some addresses that are 340 hs, 340/1 etc. You can't have a house and a first floor flat in the same property.

Selected

4/first, 4/second, 4/third; shop; rent subsidy; house

misschien is 4 een studentenhuis of portiekwoning
4/1e = eerste huurder van nummer vier enzovoort, dus 4/first, 4/second, 4/third
Peer comment(s):

agree Ariser : 4/1 could maybe also be street number 4, apartment 1 or 1st floor. Maybe best to consult client on the meaning of his acronyms.

to consult the client seems wise to me; else you can't be sure
neutral FullCircle (X) : agree with Ariser; hs and huis are ground floor, normally followed by 1st, 2nd and 3rd; so I live at 170-2 but I have to walk up three flights as hs lives on the first floor ?

I don't think hs and huis refer to first floor; I think they oppose winkel (and hs might be huursubsidie). The winkel / huis category are a different category than /1, /2, et cetera
