Can't quite get the phrasing of this right. Interview with the head buyer (fruit & veg) of SPAR convenience stores, which appears in an informal newsletter about fruit & veg.
- Wat verwachten uw klanten van uw aanbod?
“Uit diverse onderzoekingen blijkt dat onze klanten in de eerste plaats versheid en kwaliteit willen. De versheid van de groenten en het fruit moet er als het ware van **afspatten**. De prijs moet natuurlijk niet gek zijn, maar vormt toch niet hun hoofdbekommernis. Aan de andere kant hechten onze klanten wel belang aan goede promotieacties”.
Freshness must really hit you between the eyes - that kind of idea, but perhaps a bit too informal. So far I have "Our fruit and vegetables really must have that fresh-from-the-field appeal." but not completely happy with that either. Thanks for any suggestions.

Afspatten reminds me of water or dew dripping from fresh veggies or fruit. I would suggest:
The freshness of vegetables and fruit should litterally be dripping from them.

that's why I put inverted commas. "Afspatten" could also refer to rotten fruit.
