Mohammed Abd El Aziz (asker) Jun 30, 2021:
Michael Beijer Jun 29, 2021:
the term "discharge" is also often used see e.g.:

"It seems to us that if the solicitors discharged themselves for non-payment they would have had a difficult time maintaining the justification for their lien upon an application to the High Court for release of those papers in the interests of justice."

also (and depending on who is doing the discharging), in certain contexts, an "advocaat zonder instructie" could be referred to as a "discharged lawyer"

more context pls!
Michael Beijer Jun 29, 2021:
hmm I wonder if it something like this:

Can we have a bit more context? literally, a solicitor/lawyer/counsel without instructions / non-instructed solicitor/lawyer/counsel. however, we'd need the exact context to determine the correct translation

see e.g.:

" (https://juridischforum.be/viewtopic.php?t=23585 )

is the context "non-instructed advocacy", perchance?

Uninstructed or de-instructed lawyer

Uninstructed > is still on the case vs. de-instructed: has been taken off - or taken him- or herself - the case.

The verb of 'de-instruct' is used in the UK, principally for Solicitors whose retainer has either been withdrawn by the client/s: Michael B. 'discharged' or refuse to carry on acting for clients who, for instance, haven't paid their bill or have accused their Solicitor/s of incompetence, dishonesty or malpractice.
Example sentence:

Solicitor appearing as CounselUninstructedWherever a solicitor appears uninstructed as Counsel a higher rateshall be paidas appears in the Scale of Costs below

Where my firm has been disinstructed do I need to apply to court to come off the record?
