The elusive notion of brand equity is operationalized in a “share tiering” framework with a combination of multiple constructs: (1) relative barrier or brand price, (2) brand quality perceptions, (3) brand purchase loyalty, and (4) self-report future brand purchase trend. @Jarry: My tentative answer is - amongst other things - based on the fact that 'klimmend' in Dutch can be interpreted as 'toenemend' or 'cumulatief' (see reference below). Also, I've tried to find relevant examples of allocation of 'klimmende' shares in the context of partnership agreements.

See also my note. You may very well be right. However, since there are no direct references to the source term in Dutch and we do not know the wider context, it seems to me that my guess is as good as yours (or anyone else's) :-)
