chimb fixation, chime fixation

Kluwer Polytechnisch Woordenboek defines 'kim' in the sense of a protruding edge as 'chimb', 'chime' or 'rim'. Not at all sure, but 'chimb fixation' or 'chime fixation' might be a possibility here.

PS1: See http://www.joostdevree.nl/bouwkunde2/begrippen_k_ke_kk.htm for an explanation of the terms kim, kimanker, kimblok, kimlaag and kimstrook.

PS2: Kluwer Bouwkunde defines 'kim' as 'keyway', which according to the Dictionary of Architecture & Construction, besides meaning the aperture in a lock cylinder, can also mean "a slot used to interlock slabs of masonry walls built at different times". I don't think this would applicable here, though.

Note from asker:
Heb helemaal niet gezegd dat dit voor een plat dak moet zijn, dus ik weer niet waarom Ken dat denkt.
Peer comment(s):

neutral Ken Cox : From what I see, in the asker's context (flat roofs) a kim is an inside corner between the roof surface and any surface rising vertically from the roof level, such as a parapet or structure protruding through the roof (e.g. chimney or skylight).

My thoughts too. Perhaps a straightforward translation like 'parapet attachment' or 'ridge attachment' would do the job...

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "Am going for the ridge attachment. Found plenty of Dutch explanation, but I needed an English translation and your last suggestion is useful."

Misschien helpt dit een beetje.

Hoi Anne Lee,

Peter

a few references

If you google images with kimfixatie + dak, you will find several useful sites, such as:

www.dakweb.nl
www.dakmerk.nl
www.waterdicht.be

From these and similar sites, my understanding is that kimfixatie is anything used to secure the roofing material at an upright corner, either at the edge of the roof (such as at a parapet or raised rim) or at the edge of a protruding structure (such as a chimney). This could be mechanical (such as a clamping strip) or adhesive (such as double-sided sticky tape).
