Dutch term

spreiding

Dutch to English Science Chemistry; Chem Sci/Eng Ink analysis

Spread, dispersion? What would be the usual?

IF the source is correct use of statistical language, it should mean standaarddeviatie = standard deviation.

I consider "spreiding" a more common language description of standaarddeviatie, possibly comparable to "dispersion." Among all statistical works that I have ever read though, I've never encountered "dispersion." I think "distribution" would then be a a better alternative:

Note from asker:
Then, with your blessing, I think I'll go with "deviation."

agree Jo Lefebure : or just 'deviation', in the sense of 'afwijking'
