German term

metabolisch aktiv

German to English Medical Medical (general) Colorectal cancer
Report from an abdominal PET/CT:
"Morphologisch partiell regredienter, vollständig regredient metabolisch aktiver Lymphknoten im parasigmoidalen Fettgewebe posterior, DD ehemals Metastase. Aktuell keine neu aufgetretenen oder metabolisch aktiven Lymphknotenmetastasen.
Lebermetastasen in beiden Leberlappen teilweise vollständig, teilweise partiell grössenregredient und grossteils vollständig regredient metabolisch aktiv."

I am not clear here on how to phrase this in English: "Morphologically partially regressive, completely regressive metabolically active lymph node" - this sounds awkward. Similary I have: "Liver metastases in both liver lobes partly complete, somewhat regressed in size and mostly completely regressed in metabolic activity" but this sounds awkward as well.
Any suggestions?

rephrase (see below)

You need to rephrase it (I am always on high alert when I see "teilweise").

I'd say: There is evidence of a lymph node at the posterior aspect of the parasigmoid fat that is morphologically partially regressive but completely regressive as far as its metabolic activity is concerned; DDx: former metastatic focus

( I found "parasigmoid fat" in native EN references rather than "parasigmoidal fatty tissue")

Your second sentence should read (IMNSHO):
Some liver metastases in both liver lobes are completely, while others partially, regressive in size, and the majority are completely regressive as far as their metabolic activity is concerned.

Note from asker:
Thanks, that rephrasing sounds much better. Yes, I also found references only to "parasigmoid fat"
