Pewnie proste, ale nic mnie nie olśniewa po dwóch godzinach snu...

'Original exhibition' czy po prostu 'exhibition' bo owa premierowość zwiera się poniekąd w organizowaniu -mogłabym na przykład napisać curated and organised?

Ale dlaczego Pani omija pierwsze slowa: "The PUBLIC reception"?

The referred website is Arizona-centric, and I'd bet the audiences are smaller for local artists, but come to NYC and galleries have opening exhibitions all the time. Anyone can attend. It would not be called an opening otherwise.

That's really interesting, I originally googled ''premiere exhibitions'' (plural) and came up with numerous refs to company/institution names, so I rejected a direct translation, but now having checked ''premiere exhibition'' is looks legit esp for European applications.

Opening - The public reception given usually on the first evening of an exhibition's display and attended by the artist, his family and friends and a small coterie of people looking for Chardonnay in plastic glasses. In some places, openings may be coordinated among galleries, as in Phoenix's First Fridays, in which case, beer may substitute for wine.

Opening has nothing to do with vernissage. Vernissage happens before opening.

opening jest blisko ''private view'' a oba się tłumaczą jako nasz wernisaż, nie premierowa wystawa :)
Rozumiem, zasugerowałam się treścią cytatu bardziej niż terminem. Swoją drogą, ciekawe rozróżnienie o którym nigdy dokładnie nie rozmyślałam (więcej w dyskusji).
