Thanks Dave and just to mention that the municipality of La Laguna includes the northern part of the Anaga massif, which is mountains scored by barrancos. Each barranco has two sides so a lot of the land has varying height ranges. In your text the "medianías" seems to connect with the "cumbres" which are the highest points of the mountains, in that they both refer to altitude.

En este caso por mis conocimientos de botánica estoy casi seguro al 99% de que son las Canarias (laurisilva, tabaibales, etc.), pero no siempre es así. Saludos.
