French term

délai de prévenance

French to English Law/Patents contract for supply of goods and services
Contract for the supply of goods and services.

"Article X - PRIX

As I read it, this can only mean "period of notice", but that's instinct. I've had a quick root around the web. This term is bugging me. Can anyone confirm or correct?

Notice period

Yes, I think this is legal speak for période de préavis, i.e. modification or termination of contract. The idea of prévenance also includes the idea of courtesy (i.e. please be so kind as to forewarn us). So here it appears to be a tone-down version of préavis (which reminds one of handing in your notice at work). I can't think of a better term in English than notice period.

3 KudoZ points awarded for this answer. Comment: "This was indeed it. Rather than being a toned down version it is apparently just another much less common term."
